How to look at the charts for profitable trades?

Components of chart:

Chart has 3 trends channels:

  1. Major trend (marked 1 in sample chart below) -- REMOVED
  2. Intermediate trend (marked 2 in sample chart below)
  3. Minor trend (marked 3 in sample chart below)

Chart shows candles of 3 times frames together:

  1. 5 minute (useful for intraday traders, marked 4 in sample chart below)
  2. Hourly chart (marked 5 in sample chart below)
  3. Daily chart (marked 6 in sample chart below)

Chart also shows

  1. Daily Pivot Point (DPV), Possible Resistances (R1, R2) and Possible Supports (S1, S2)
  2. Yesterday High (yH), and Yesterday Low (yL)

 

A good traders look at bigger picture collectively, not just 1 indicator.

 

How to know if Buy decision is correct?

Major trend channel is pointing upward, price is above intermediate channel, and micro trend has blue line above red line.

Stop loss is red line of intermediate channel. Price should close below this line on 5 min chart.

Targets - Normally profit booking is recommended when micro trend changes i.e. blue line closes below red line.

 

How to know if Sell decision is correct?

Major trend channel is pointing downward, price is below intermediate channel, and micro trend has red line above blue line.

Stop loss is blue line of intermediate channel. Price should close below this line on 5 min chart.

Targets - Normally profit booking is recommended when micro trend changes i.e. blue line closes above red line.

 

You can always refer back to hourly and daily trends (candles moving up or down) for swing or short term trades entry.
