Shani (Saturn)

For Sade Sati, Dhaiya and the trials of Saturn

Shani is the planet of time, karma and discipline. When Saturn presses on a chart, during Sade Sati, Dhaiya or its own dasha, life tends to slow down: effort takes longer to pay, responsibilities grow heavier, and patience is tested.

The Shani Raksha Kavach carries the classical Shani Yantra, traditionally kept to seek Saturn’s mercy, steadiness through difficult periods, and the strength to keep going until the work bears fruit.

Steadiness

Traditionally kept to calm the pressure Saturn brings in testing periods.

Protection

A shield, in the classical sense, against the harsher results of Shani.

Discipline

A daily reminder of Saturn’s lessons: patience, honesty and hard work.

The yantra, decoded

Every line has a meaning

Premium Shani Raksha Kavach: close-up of the etched yantra square

Around the rim: beej mantra

ॐ प्रां प्रीं प्रौं सः शनैश्चराय नमः

Om Praam Preem Praum Sah Shanaishcharaya Namah

Inner band: planet mantra

ॐ शं शनैश्चराय नमः

Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah

The double lotus

An eight petal lotus (ashtadal) within a sixteen petal lotus (shodashdal) encloses the centre, the traditional seat of the deity in a yantra and a symbol of purity rising above circumstance.

The number square

The planet's own yantra square. Every row, column and diagonal adds up to 33, a balance the tradition holds sacred to Shani.

Who is it for

Traditionally recommended

  • When Shani is causing hindrance in progress
  • Shani placed in the 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th or 12th house of the birth chart
  • Those going through Sade Sati, or Shani Dhaiya (Saturn transiting the 4th or 8th from the Moon)
  • During Shani Mahadasha or Antardasha
  • When Saturn is debilitated (in Aries), weak or afflicted in the birth chart
  • When work is met with repeated delays or obstacles
  • Anyone seeking discipline, patience and steady progress

As a natural malefic, Shani usually gives good results in the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses, so a placement there is rarely a cause for concern.

A remedy works best when it matches your chart. Book a consultation if you would like a personal recommendation.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is the Shani Raksha Kavach good during Sade Sati?

Sade Sati is the period it is most often kept for. Traditionally it is kept for the full seven and a half years, alongside Saturday worship of Shani Dev and service to those in need.

What is the kavach made of?

Premium brass with a golden finish. The yantra is precision etched into the face, so the design does not peel, fade or rub off the way printed or plated designs can.

What does energization include?

Before dispatch the kavach is purified and consecrated (Pran Pratishtha) with the planet’s mantra and the prescribed ritual, on a day suited to that planet. It is optional and adds ₹1,100: choose it on the product page, or leave it off if you prefer to have the kavach consecrated yourself.

How do I keep or carry it?

Most people keep it in their puja space, on a clean cloth, facing east or north. It can also be carried in a wallet, purse or bag, or kept in a work desk or locker. Keep it away from footwear and impure places, and treat it with respect.

How long does delivery take?

Each kavach is dispatched within 3 to 5 business days, after energization if you choose it. Shipping is free anywhere in India, with tracking shared by email.

Do you ship outside India?

Not at the moment. Online orders ship within India only. If you live abroad, please contact us and we will try to help.

Can I wear more than one kavach?

Yes. Rahu and Ketu always act as a pair, so many people keep both. If you are unsure which planet needs support in your chart, a short consultation will tell you before you buy.

Will a kavach replace my efforts or other treatment?

No. A kavach is a traditional spiritual support and a daily reminder of discipline and faith. It works alongside your own effort, and never in place of medical, legal or financial advice.

A kavach is a traditional spiritual support. It complements, and never replaces, your own effort or professional advice.
